Prior to his current position, Dr. Novack served as a Medical Director at Harvard Clinical Research Institute. His epidemiology training has helped in translating clinical research findings into the statistical dimensioning, by that achieving more flexible and efficient trial designs. During his 5-year tenure he has designed and contributed to the design of more than 40 feasibility and pivotal trials for medical devices such as nitinol stents for iliac and femoro-popliteal atherosclerotic disease, coronary stents, filter devices used for carotid intervention, ventricular assist devices, arterial closure devices, renal and coronary stents. Dr. Novack specializes in adaptive trial design which helps in reducing overall cost of study conduct and successfully negotiated numerous trial designs with the FDA. He has more than 80 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals.
